Electronic Poker is a favored game that is able to be played in casinos across the world, or alternatively at your house on your personal computer, through an Internet connection. The regulations are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player attempting to achieve the best assemblage of cards as you can in order to win money. On this account it is much the same as a regular game of poker, apart from the line of contact with competing players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant here.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the enthusiast puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and presses the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will then be electronically 'handed out' on the screen.

The Video Poker game also has buttons with 'hold' written on them, and bettors should now choose which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the player wishes to keep, the 'hold' buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, whether it's all or none.

After the player has selected which cards he wishes to keep, they should press 'deal', at which point any new cards are needed they will be given out. The hand is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the payout schedule.

Normally, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payout schedule can change from machine to machine, so that experienced players are agile enough to pick the most money-making ones each instance.

After the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to maximize their winnings, or press the 'collect' button to cash out any money that might have been won. Further, several versions of the game allow the player a chance to increase their wins, in which situation a further round is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying aspects to increase playability.
